How to Send an Advanced Mass Email

Step-by-step guide to sending a mass email using Advanced Mass Email, which sends one email per minute for better deliverability.

Written by VipeCloud Support

Advanced Mass Email is an Enterprise feature that sends one email per minute on a defined schedule instead of blasting your entire list at once. This produces more consistent sending behavior, reduces the risk of a sending pause, and gives you the ability to stop mid-campaign if early results show problems.

If you are sending to a new or unverified list, Advanced Mass Email is strongly recommended.

When to Use Advanced Mass Email

Use Advanced Mass Email when:

  • You are sending to a new list for the first time

  • You are not in a rush to deliver all emails immediately

  • You want to monitor early results and pause if bounce rates are high

  • You want to avoid sending outside business hours

Use a standard mass email when timing is critical and your list has already been verified with a strong sending history.

How to Send an Advanced Mass Email

  1. Go to Emails in the left navigation.

  2. Select Mass Email.

  3. Choose your email template and contact list, then click Preview & Send.

  4. On the send screen, click Enable Advanced Mass Email. The Advanced Mass Email Settings panel will appear.

  5. Configure your settings and schedule (see below).

  6. Click Save Advanced Mass Email Settings to save your schedule.

  7. To launch, click Send Advanced Mass Email Now - this starts the campaign and emails will go out according to your schedule.

Once launched, emails will send within your defined schedule. You can pause or stop the campaign at any time before it completes.

Advanced Mass Email Settings Explained

When you enable Advanced Mass Email, a settings panel appears with the following options.

Send a maximum number of emails per day

Checking this enables the Daily max number field, where you can set a cap on how many emails go out per day for this specific send. This is a convenient way to limit daily volume without manually adjusting each day's schedule. The system will apply whichever limit is lower - the daily max you set here or the total allowed by your day schedule. For example, if your schedule allows 480 emails on Monday but you set a daily max of 100, only 100 will go out that day.

Send one email per minute

When checked, emails drip out one per minute throughout your scheduled window - this is the standard AME behavior and the best option for deliverability and reputation protection.

When unchecked, AME acts as a batch scheduler instead. It waits until the start of each day's sending window and sends the full batch for that day at once. This is useful when you want to break a large list into manageable daily chunks but do not need the one-per-minute pacing.

Save these settings as AME default

Checking this saves your current schedule and settings so they preload automatically the next time you send an Advanced Mass Email. If you use a consistent sending window, check this once and you will not have to reconfigure it each time.

Setting Your Sending Schedule

Each day of the week has a slider that controls what hours AME will send. The label below each slider shows the active window (for example, "Send from: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM") and the estimated number of emails that can go out that day based on your settings.

A few things to know about the schedule:

  • AME will stop sending when it reaches the end of the day's window and automatically resume at the next scheduled open hour.

  • To skip a day entirely, drag one end of the slider to meet the other until the day shows "Up to 0 emails." AME will skip that day and resume on the next scheduled day.

  • All hours are based on your time zone, not the recipient's.

When you are done configuring, click Save Advanced Mass Email Settings before launching.

System-Level AME Limit

In addition to the per-send daily cap, there is a system-wide Advanced Mass Email limit in your Email Settings. This sets a ceiling on total AME emails sent per day across all active campaigns running simultaneously. If you run multiple AMEs at the same time and want to control overall daily volume, set this limit in Email Settings. The per-send daily max and the system max work together - the lower limit always applies.

Tips for Best Results

  • Verify your contact list before sending - this reduces bounces and protects your domain reputation. Learn how to verify a list.

  • Keep "Send one email per minute" checked when sending to a new or cold list. Only uncheck it if you have a clean, verified list and want batch-style delivery.

  • Schedule sends during business hours so replies and engagement happen at predictable times.

  • Monitor bounce rates after the first 50-100 sends. If bounces are high, pause the campaign before more damage is done.

  • Use "Save these settings as AME default" once you have a schedule you like so you do not have to reconfigure it every time.

Common Questions

How long will it take to send to my whole list?

At one email per minute with a 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM window, you can send up to 480 emails per day. A list of 500 contacts would take just over one business day. Larger lists will take proportionally longer depending on your schedule and any daily caps you have set.

What is the difference between "Enable Advanced Mass Email" and "Send Batch Mass Email Now"?

"Enable Advanced Mass Email" opens the settings panel so you can configure your schedule. "Send Batch Mass Email Now" is the button that actually launches the campaign after you have saved your settings.

Can I pause or stop the campaign after it starts?

Yes. You can pause or cancel an in-progress Advanced Mass Email campaign at any time.

What happens if AME does not finish in one day?

AME pauses at the end of your scheduled window and automatically resumes at the next open hour. You do not need to do anything - it picks up where it left off.

Is Advanced Mass Email available on all plans?

Advanced Mass Email is an Enterprise plan feature. If you do not see the option, you can upgrade in your account billing settings, or contact Support with questions.
