What This Does
Digital Business Cards give you a permanent link and QR code that points to an email template landing page. The link and QR code never change, even if you update or replace the underlying template - making them safe to use on printed materials like business cards, flyers, and signage.
Before You Start
Digital Business Cards require a full VipeCloud account with email access. If you are a text-only user in an agency account, this feature will not be available to you. See the Troubleshooting section below for details.
How Digital Business Cards Work
A Digital Business Card is built on top of an email template landing page. The template is what people actually see when they scan your QR code or click your link.
If you already have an email template you want to use as your Digital Business Card, skip to Step 2.
If you still need to create one, complete Step 1 first.
Step 1 - Create an Email Template
Your Digital Business Card is powered by an email template landing page. You need to create that template first.
Click Communication in the left sidebar.
Select Email.
Click Templates.
Click Create.
Enter a template title and subject line.
Enable the template landing page option.
Select Drag and Drop HTML Builder.
Design the layout and content you want people to see when they visit your card.
For detailed guidance on building email templates, refer to the Email Template Builder help articles.
Step 2 - Activate Your Digital Business Card
Once your template is ready, activate your Digital Business Card and connect it to that template.
Click Home in the left sidebar.
Select Digital Business Card.
Toggle Activate Digital Business Card on.
In the Settings card, select the email template you want to use.
The page will refresh automatically. After it reloads, your permanent link and QR code will appear in the card above the Settings section.
Step 3 - Access Your Link and QR Code
After activation, your Digital Business Card generates a permanent link and a permanent QR code. These do not change if you later switch to a different template.
You can use these in printed materials with confidence - the link and QR code will continue to work even after you update your content.
How to Assign a User Merge Tag (Optional)
This section is inside the Digital Business Card settings, in the Settings card below the template selector.
The merge tag option lets you insert your Digital Business Card link into email and text templates using a short tag instead of the full URL.
If you are a solo user managing your own card, you can skip this option.
If you are an admin or agency managing cards across multiple users, refer to the admin-facing Digital Business Card article.
To assign a merge tag:
In the Settings card, locate the merge tag field.
Select or create the user merge tag you want to associate with this card.
Use that merge tag in your email or text templates to dynamically insert the card link.
How to Access Your Digital Business Card on Mobile
The Digital Business Card is available in the VipeCloud mobile app. The QR code appears above the fold for quick in-person sharing.
Open the VipeCloud mobile app.
Tap the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner.
Tap Home.
Select Digital Business Card.
Your QR code will be visible immediately. You can also download it to your photo gallery from this screen.
Key Notes
Your link and QR code are permanent. Switching templates does not generate a new link or QR code.
You can update your contact information, branding, or calls to action at any time without reprinting physical materials.
The first time you activate, only the Settings card will be visible. The share card with your link and QR code appears after you select a template and the page refreshes.
You can preview your landing page by clicking the preview button on the Digital Business Card page.
Troubleshooting
I don't see Digital Business Card under Home
If you are a text-only user in an agency account, you will not have access to this feature. Digital Business Cards require a full account with email access enabled.
To resolve this:
Contact the account owner or admin and ask them to upgrade your user account from text-only to a full account with emailing.
Once your account type is updated, return to Home and select Digital Business Card.
If you are not sure what type of account you have, contact your account admin or reach out to VipeCloud Support.
