How To Use AMP Blocks For Landing Pages

AMP blocks are interactive blocks, such as image carousels and accordions, that work on template landing pages but not in sent emails. Here you'll learn how to add them to a landing page, start from an AMP sample template, and share the page by email.

AMP blocks are interactive blocks in the HTML builder, such as a carousel of images or an accordion that expands and collapses. A template with AMP blocks works only as a landing page. You can't email the template itself, but you can email a link to its landing page.

How to Add AMP Blocks to a Landing Page

  1. Click the Communication tab in the left navigation.

  2. Click Email dropdown in the sidebar.

  3. Click Templates.

  4. Open the HTML template you want to use as the landing page.

  5. If the template doesn't have a landing page yet, click Edit Template Details, check Enable template landing page, and click Save Template Details.

  6. In the blocks panel, drag an AMP block onto the template. AMP blocks have a lightning bolt icon.

  7. Click the block to add its content.

  8. Click Save & Preview Landing Page to save and open the landing page in a new tab.

AMP blocks:

  • Carousel - A rotating set of images. Add a slide for each image, and link any image to another page.

  • Accordion - Titled sections that expand and collapse, often used for FAQs. Each section can hold text or an image.

How to Start From an AMP Sample Template

  1. Open the template in the HTML builder.

  2. At the top of the HTML builder, click View 600+ Sample Templates.

  3. Type AMP in Search Templates.

  4. Click a sample template to load it into the builder.

  5. Click Save.

Key Notes

  • On the Templates page, a template with AMP blocks shows AMP Email Template (Landing Page Only - No Emailing) under its name, and it has no send or Create Automation options.

  • To reach people by email, send a separate email that links to the AMP template's landing page. For how to copy the link, see Create Landing Pages with VipeCloud.

  • Don't add AMP blocks to a template you plan to email. Build the AMP version as its own template instead.

  • If an AMP block has a problem, the builder lists the AMP errors when you save.
