You can build an email template from a Canva design by downloading each part of the design as an image and stacking the images in the Drag & Drop HTML Builder. Canva makes images, not HTML, so each image can have only one link and the text inside an image can't use merge tags.
How to Build a Template From Canva Images
In Canva, download each page or section of your design as a separate image.
In VipeCloud, click Emails, then Templates.
Click Create.
Enter a Template Title (For Your Internal Reference) and a Subject.
Click Drag & Drop HTML Builder.
Delete the placeholder structures you won't use.
Drag a full-width structure into the template for each image, in the order the images should appear.
Click each image block and choose the matching Canva image.
Click Save.
How to Remove the Space Between Canva Images
New structures in the HTML builder have padding by default, which shows as a gap between stacked images.
Click the structure that holds an image.
In the settings panel, turn off Padding.
Repeat for each structure that holds an image.
Click Save.
How to Add Links to Canva Images
An image is either one link or no link, so a click anywhere on a linked image goes to the same place. To give a design more than one link, such as two buttons side by side, crop it in Canva so each button is its own image.
In Canva, crop the design so each area that needs its own link is a separate image, then download the pieces.
In the HTML builder, add each piece to the template in its own image block, using a structure with more than one column for pieces that sit side by side.
Click an image block.
In the settings panel, enter the URL in the link field.
Click Save.
Key Notes
Each image can have one link or none.
Text in a Canva image is part of the picture, so merge tags don't work inside it.
To personalize the email, add text blocks above, below, or between the images. That text works like text in any other email template, including merge tags.
